Beach Blanket Memories: Bright Blue Breakers Beauty

When it comes to the beach, any day is a good day, even when it's a cool, crisp day in early spring. I photographed this at The Breakers Hotel and Resort, that lovely iconic property that makes brides-to-be and golfers, alike, swoon. But, on this day, it was all about the blues - of the sky and of the water - and the bright snap of yellow of the flag mounted on the lifeguard stand.

Oh, Deer - Or, How a Wedding Shoot Became a Wild Adventure

Oh, Deer!, Photo by Shannon Finney

While wedding crashers may not be common, far less common are
wedding crashers galloping top-speed through a wedding reception,
but that's exactly what happened at a recent wedding shoot. Bambi
appeared at the edge of a nature preserve that backs up to the reception site,
and when the poor dear (or deer) noticed the hundred or so guests
dining inside of the tent, he or she sped off, running towards the
two trees where the wedding ceremony had taken place earlier. Looking
on were two of the wedding guests - a mother and her son who were
mere feet away from our galloping gate crasher.

Cherry Blossom 2012 Sneak Peak!

It's that time of year again here in Washington, DC - the time where photographers,
both amateur and professional, stand elbow to elbow, looking for that perfect, and
sometimes elusive, best shot. Their subject? The cherry blossoms, of course! With the unseasonably warm temperatures pushing up the dates for peak blooms, here is a sneak
peek of some of my favorite blossom pics from seasons past. Hopefully they'll inspire you as you click away at the Tidal Basin:)
